Md. Mahbubur Rahman is a distinguished academic, researcher, and IT professional with over seven years of experience in teaching, research, and industry-focused roles. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, ranking highly in his class.
Beginning his academic career as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dhaka International University (DIU) in 2017, Md. Mahbubur advanced to roles such as Assistant Professor, Department Coordinator, and Acting Chairman. At DIU, he took on various leadership responsibilities, including serving as the Member Secretary of the OBE Curriculum Mapping Committee under the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) and as a Member of the Self-Assessment Committee (SAC) for the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP). He also led initiatives in software automation and upgrades at the university.

In August 2023, he joined the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator, focusing on advancing deep learning and machine learning research. He is also teaching courses as an adjunct faculty in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at East West University, further expanding his educational outreach and influence.
Md. Mahbubur’s research interests span machine learning, deep learning, bioinformatics, and medical image analysis, with a recent emphasis on IoT applications in sustainable agriculture. His scholarly contributions include the publication of over 19 international journal articles and conference papers. As a faculty member, he has successfully supervised over 80 undergraduate projects, in addition to managing more than 20 projects as a project manager in the IT sector. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Md. Mahbubur is dedicated to fostering innovation and student engagement, organizing significant events such as programming contests and IT fairs. As an advisor to the IEEE Student Branch at BUBT and the Founder of initiatives like the Peer Research Lab, he cultivates leadership and collaborative skills among students.

Md. Mahbubur is also the CEO of BeMantech Ltd., where he leads projects in ERP solutions, e-learning platforms, and Odoo-based applications, bridging the gap between academia and industry. His technical expertise spans programming languages (Python, C, Java), database management (MySQL, Oracle), and development tools (Django, Docker, Odoo), making him a versatile professional. Known for his extensive training in Agile Project Management and his participation in numerous workshops on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Quality Assurance (QA), he is well-recognized as a motivator and decisive leader in the academic and IT communities.

My research focuses on utilizing advanced technologies like deep learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) to address real-world challenges in healthcare, agriculture, and automation. In healthcare, I develop deep learning models for early disease detection, particularly in cancer diagnostics, enhancing accuracy and patient care. In agriculture, I work on smart farming solutions, integrating IoT sensors and AI to optimize crop management and sustainability. Additionally, I explore IoT-based automation systems for applications in home security and environmental monitoring. My research aims to push technological boundaries, creating practical solutions with a positive societal impact.
I continually seek to push the boundaries of technology through interdisciplinary collaborations and real-world applications.

Teaching Career

I have been dedicated to teaching in the field of Computer Science and Engineering for several years, starting as a Lecturer and progressing to my current position as an Assistant Professor at the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). My teaching portfolio covers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, Object-Oriented Programming, Software Engineering, and Database Management Systems. Throughout my teaching career, I have focused on combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications, encouraging students to solve real-world problems through hands-on projects. I have supervised numerous thesis and design projects on topics such as IoT-based systems, machine learning applications, and web development, many of which have resulted in innovative solutions. Additionally, I have contributed to curriculum development and departmental activities, including overseeing laboratory facilities and mentoring students. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, ensuring students are well-prepared for the rapidly evolving tech industry.
